I finally was able to get a set of gipiemme track bars for my on topic (allegedly, according to the ebay frame purchase) '84 lugged Bianchi pista (how can I research this?). I had been riding a set of modolo wider bars with a front brake mounted, and the right hand brake lever for alternative hand positions. I have had carpal tunnel for 15 or so years, so i thought that adding this brake lever would be accommodating.

I put the much narrower pista bars on a couple of weeks ago without the right hand brake lever and have found it FAR better wrist positioning following the angle of the bars in the upper position (as opposed to the straight modolo road bars), for my bent arms which are not splayed out but rather vertical to the road. the drops splay out just enough for my knees to come up between the spread of my arms in the

dropped position.

I cannot account for really big climbs, I use other bikes for them (that

make clicky noise when you stop pedaling), but for this fixed (my daily weekday ride) the narrow bars are perfect. -- gabriel l romeu did my ride expediently today with an impending storm, near crosswicks, New Jersey, USA ± http://studiofurniture.com Ø http://journalphoto.org ±
