The Mafac Brakeset Blues

(sung to the tune of your average blues song)

You all must know the feeling Ride on any French-made bike The brakes are making noises Only dolphins probably like You try some more adjusting Still there’s nothing you can do France has never give me nothin’ But the MAFAC brakeset blues

(chorus) How they squeal… Scream, screech, cry, and squeal You can toe them, tighten, toss them But there’s nothing you can do We’re clueless how to cure them That’s the MAFAC brakeset blues

Had a set on my white Peugeot They screeched all night and day My brother said to oil them Sis said throw the (bleeps) away I took them to the bike shop But they hung their heads in shame Said they never yet have figured How to make the squeal go way

(chorus) And how they squeal… Lord! Screech, scream, and squeal You can toe them, tighten, toss them But there’s nothing you can do We’re all clueless how to cure them That’s the MAFAC brakeset blues
