A thank you to all for the info so far. I'm now investigating the washers (spacers) that keep the pad post from sliding.

Also, the squeeling was my scream when the pad slid and I was left with the Flintstone stoppers (feet).

If I wanted something to work right out of the box I'd use Campy's. But where's the challenge in that?
