If you need a regular width chain Ray Etherton has just promised a great answer, delivered to the the Cirque. A Renold chain is second to none. While I don't know the prices Ray has in mind, these have often been available for less than $20 in the past and, if kept clean, will last a good bit longer than most chains. Just an aside, Renold chains were original equipment on many Zeus bikes in the US and probably on some Raleighs.

As Jan Heine said, many times a period chain works best with period equipment but that is not always the case, so my first option is usually a Renold or likes and then I will experiment if there is an issue.

\r?\n> perspective, or a "should I sully my collection of beautiful

\r?\n> classics and will the CR guys forgive me?" discussion? On the

\r?\n> former track, I have used an old Sedis and newer off-topic units

\r?\n> that wear item replacement parts are permitted to be chosen

\r?\n> based on availability, rather than based on the original OEM

\r?\n> bill of materials. I am not doing Concours d'Elegance, but

\r?\n> keeping nice old bikes to ride.
