PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use proper techniques when using ANY solvent including Mineral Spirits ,............... Always use gloves ,use in well ventilated area , keep away from flame etc all solvents with the exception of ISO SOLVENTS will absorb into your blood stream and be carried through most of your internal organs. MEK will remove most adhesive residue but it can also give you LUNG and LIVER TUMORS (any bike part worth that?) ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS read MSDS (material safety data sheets) of any chemical product , if the vendor will not supply one with your purchase dont buy it.
My recommendation is always start with the least aggressive product first like soapy water and proceed from there. Alcohol based cleaners work well but still require special handling . Even "SAFE SOLVENTS" are dangerous when used improperly
