Subject: [CR]Stronglight BB Adj Cup Lock-ring?

Ahoy !

I apologise for the nuisance; however, this is my first Stronglight so, I am on the learning curve to become gaul-vanized.

Lock-ring for the adjusting cup appears to bottom-out against the lugs of the bottom bracket shell. This insinuates doubts of the flush mating against the bb shell face.

Should a spacer-washer have been installed between the lock-ring and the bb shell? If yes then, I assume the spacer-washer would have been steel - perhaps chrome plated - rather than aluminum. To be honest, the lock-ring is beveled on one side which may provide the clearance. Although, wear patterns on the lock-ring do not give indication of the beveled side being installed against the bb shell. The opposite is indicated - wear pattern is worried into the flat, non-beveled side.

What did Messrs. Stronglight have in mind?

Comment, please.

Thank you.
