I agree with another member's suggestion that the mystery axle adjusters are probably for a BSA dirt bike. I had a 1972 Victor 500 up until a couple years ago which used a very similar {if not identical} part. They actually went on the swing arm pivot bolt, the axle was fixed in relation to the arm, but the effect was the same. They allowed rapid and accurate adjustment of chain tension . I believe Rickman Brother's Scrambles frames from the late 50's/early 60's originated the idea. Greg Lone Langley B.C. Canada
