Subject: [CR]Anyone ever ornamented fillet brazed joints?

I know the usual approach and appeal of fillet brazed joints is to create a smooth, seamless visual transition between tubes sans lugs.

But it occurred to me that it might create a rather striking visual effect if the tube itself were perferated in an interesting ornamental pattern in the region of the fillet brazed insert before the brazing was done.

Has this ever been done? Could it be done without ruining the integrity of the tube?

Dreaming of yet another way to drive master builders to distraction. :-)
