jerry, the crank arms are date coded(on the back of the crankarms, and chainrings), 2 letters, and the CR website has the decoding. the allvit was introduced in 1957-58. from small picture i see it is not the first version rear derailleur, so it is after 1960. The front derailleur is also not the first version. Weinmann 999 brakes were also introduced around 1958. Those are not the first version either, the first version engraving is different. I date all these items(without knowing the date code on the cranks) as early 1960s, but no latter than 1963-1964. hope this helps. joel Flood philadelphia, PA

"Can anyone advise what model the Williams cranks are and if they would be correct on a 1951/52 Baines?

Also, the Weinmann Vainquer 999 calipers seem older than any I have seen, as they have the model actually engraved in the caliper, rather than on a separate nameplate as in the late 60's/early 70's. Can anyone guess the era of these brakes? When were the Vainquer 999's introduced? While I'm asking, could the Huret Allvit derailleurs possibly be correct for 1951? I'm particularly interested in whether the Allvit FD, or any other cable-operated front derailleur, could be correct for 1951/52
