CR, observations on the two versions of engraved Weinmann Vainqueur 999 centerpull brake calipers

FIRST VERSION

1) a single spring 2) brake bolt is round head and sits flat on brake bridge 3) each caliper pivot bolt threads fully into the brake bridge, and is longer than second version pivot bolts 4) the back side of brake bridge is bumped out to the rear where the pivot bolts thread in

SECOND VERSION [see exploded parts illustration in Chuck Schmidt's Velo Retro 1965 Guaranty Cycle Co catalog]

1) two short springs 2) brake bolt has two flats on head opposite each other and fits into an indentation on brake bridge 3) brake bridge has swedged female nuts into which the shorter brake caliper pivot bolt threads 4) back side of brake bridge is flat at pivot bolts and is raised with grooves where brake bolt comes out ......................................
