How about taking the Tufo tape off when it gets old? My LBS didn't like tape because it is a much bigger pain to remove than old glue.

The Tufo tape IMHO is far superior to the old rim tapes. I started using it last year and doubt that I'll go back to using glue. Mounting a tire with the Tufo tape is quick, easy, and clean!
