Grant departed bridgestone when they exited the US market, around 1994 or 1995. Grant then started Rivendell. Bridgestone influenced riv, by way of Grants product management insanity. He flew in the face of convention and drew a very loyal dealer following, but sales did not satisfy Japans expectations, especially when other brands were growing and profitable at the time.
