Of course, parting out a nice bike is sinful. Having said that, the non-uncommon Austro Daimler Vent Noir came with first generation black D/A gruppo, and they do come up on eBay. Of course, if you get a second gen ~58 cm Vent Noir, and it has the smoky chrome in good shape, I'm happy to trade for the first generation version in matte black paint, with pretty good striping and a new set of decals... :-)

harvey sachs mcLean va +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have recently purchased what I am almost positive is a 1976 Kuwahara Apollo Imperial. The frame has no decals or headbadge but the seller said he remembers it being an Apollo. All components are 1st gen Dura Ace with the anodized black bits (including the Crane rear). One problem is that he long ago gave away the brakeset.

Does anyone have any pics of one of these so I can see the decals/paint scheme etc? Also, does anyone know where I might find an Apollo headbadge (of the same type that was used on the cheaper BMX bikes of the brand.)

I dont hold much hope for finding black DA brakes but can anyone recommend a reasonable alternative?

Thank you for your time
