Kurt, If you check page 31 of Campagnolo Catalogo N.14 (1954), on the lower right is art.# 1031. The clamp in question is the upper part of this mechanism. The mechanism is a chain tensioner and is ment to be attached to the right chainstay through the use of this clamp. Only one clamp per mechanism. Interestingly, there is no corresponding item name or description for #1031. Looking through my #14, I see no other use of this part any where. I have one of these complete mechanisms in the "Special" box, and so she is now happily on my desk.
