Jerry-the seller is confusing the word tange for tang (as in lugged joint).If you click on other items for sale, all of his frames are "tange" butted except the Mercian which is luggless joinery. Art Link,San Antonio,TX

Wonder how he knows it is Tange butted tubing? If that is true, and if it really is more than 45 years old, I would think it would have to be a Japanese-built frame. I can't imagine a European, British or American tandem builder using Tange tubing in 1961 or earlier. I don't even know if Tange was making butted bicycle tubing in 1961, although it wouldn't surprise me if they were.
