There is no difference with the tubes behinds the label, in about 1976 Schwinn if I remember correctly, got these made up as the fork blades and stays on any Reynolds 531 set are not double butted but only taper gauge. Some smart attorney caught them on that, of course the seat tube is not double butted either...

Don't know why the two stars on each side flanking the 531. Do note the "two star" transfer has different text, to help clarify the truth. Probably the same law firm that attacked on the dangers of quick releases.

Schwinn, due to its size got the brunt of the attacks, and their bikes got a small label about this time advising of some probable danger, while other mfgs. did not get pushed in that direction. When working at a bike shop back then, one of the distributors was involved in a lawsuit as its bikes were sold with defective wheels and tires that allowed the front wheel to drop into the space between storm grate grids that ran parallel to the flow of traffic.
