What is with the aluminum blocks under the pedals? Are they a lame effort to make them double-sided?
And I'm surprised to see the bike equipped with suicide levers. They could be original (they appear in Schwinn's 69 catalog) but I guess they were not installed by the factory. They must have seemed like a good idea at the time, since it wasn't yet widely known how useless they were.
