Subject: [CR]New Book: British Lightweight Cycle Catalogues Reprints

VBQ readers know about this already, but I figured I should offer it to the list:

The British Veteran-Cycle Club has published a volume of reprints of British Lightweight Cycle Catalogues from the 1930s through 1950s. The catalogues were selected because they have not been reprinted before.

Each catalogue is reprinted in black & white, preceded by a chapter by the V-CC "marque enthusiast" on the maker. These introductory chapters provide a timeline, production numbers, and where possible, serial number of bikes with their dates. The latter is very helpful when dating a bike from these makers.

Catalogues included are:

Bates Carlton Claud Butler Ephgrave Gillott Hetchin's Hobbs of Barbican Holdsworth Paris/Rensch Raleigh Rotrax P T Stallard

For a full review, check out Vintage Bicycle Quarterly Vol. 4, No. 4, p. 5.

The book is spiralbound, softcover, 108 pages. Available directly from the V-CC or from Vintage Bicycle Press for $ 27 ($ 30 Canada), including shipping. We are sold out now, but a new shipment is on the way from Britain. Please allow 4-5 weeks for delivery.
