In the 1939 Brown Brothers catalogue, the standard nickel plated Veeder is 6/3, and the Lucas less than half that, at 2/11. Trade prices were 5/0 and 2/0 respectively.

For some reason, the Veeder in black was 6/9. Perhaps it was nickelled first, and then enamelled, which would account for the extra cost.
