I've done exactly that, installed tires with Vittoria over residue of Continental without cleaning. No problems yet, although I do not have high-altitude mountain descents nor road-race-grade thrust.

IMO you should not have any problem if your use is not cutting-edge, and I could not say you would have problems if your use is on the demanding side.

\r?\n> Specifically, I've used Continental in the past, so the tires and rims have

\r?\n> Conti residue on them, but I could only find Vittoria when I last went looking.

\r?\n> I could clean the conti residue off the rims, but not off the previously glued

\r?\n> tires that I was going to put on.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Both glues are sort of brown/yellow, so I am tempted to think that they might be

\r?\n> ok together. Or am I asking for trouble and should find the glue I've used

\r?\n> before?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> thanks,
