Subject: [CR]AW: ID Frame

Al,

I have a 72 Chesini Super Special Course that also has star-shaped cutouts in the lugs. Differences are that mine also has also cutout star in the BB but no brazeon brakecable guides on the top tube. Like in the repainted frame, Chesini almost always marks the framesize in the BB. My frame has chromed setstay-tips at the seat collar with the engraved word "Special". The headtubelugs of the chesini are slightly different as they do not have the small extra cutouts above the lower headtube section, they are just plain. So the frame might be, as stated by some listmember, be of italian origin, maybe a Chesini. Just check whether the seatstaytips bear the Special engraving. The only thing that's incosistent with that theory, is the frame having an english threaded BB instead of italian 36x24 which could be explained when someone rethreaded the BB for a repair. Frame size and geometry would also fit for an italian, esp. Chesini frame.

Regard
