Greetings:
I am corresponding with another lister who recently acquired a Champion Team Motobecane very similar to my own. He asked about my serial number and I gave him a number that was stamped into the inside of the drive side dropout, in the clamping area. I saw only three digits and he suggested I look closer as his ended in the same three digits. So on closer examination, I did find two leading digits. The number, 82916, is the same as those of my correspondent. I looked through my Campy info, searched the archives and a few other sources thinking this was a part number. It does not appear so. FWIW, both of our bikes appear to have come from the same area.
Anyone have a clue what this number means, if anything? Thanks
