Both are correct. I have a near NOS late model Record RD that also has the plastic wheels. I was given it by the original owner. It had come on a bike that he didn't ride much and then when he got around to riding it the next year he swapped it out for the NR RD that was much lighter. I asked about the pulleys and he said that was the way it had come.

I'm under the impression that the Record was produced past 1965 (~'68?) anyone have more conclusive info on when they quit making them? Or when they stopped showing up on production bikes?
