Of course, this is where it gets complicated. For a French or Swiss frame, 26.8 would be a large diameter seat post. In those cases 26.4 or 26.8 would be the norm, and the OD of the seat tube would be 28mm vs. 28.6mm.
Then again, I don't know whether Columbus made tubes in French
dimensions, as did Reynolds. But it's possible that the French
and Swiss builders used 26.8mm seatposts on SLX frames just for
the sake of consistency. You'll have to measure to be sure...
