We (IE: the Working Bikes Co-op in Chicago, see http://www.WorkingBikes.org) got a similar frame quite some time ago and I, like you, couldn't find anything out about it ...

The colour and decals suggest early 1960s to me and I wondered if it followed the Raleigh Lenton Sports and they'd dropped the "Lenton" - because, say, it wasn't Reynolds 531?

Then a few weeks ago a Raleigh chain-wheel appeared on eBay, very distinctive and the same as the one Raleigh Sports frame we had. It said it was from the likes of a Raleigh Blue Streak and if you go to http://www.sheldonbrown.com/retroraleighs/blue-streak.html you will see it is the same as the chain-wheel on your bike. More to support the early 1960s dating?

Hello all,
This is my first submission here. I recently acquired an old Raleigh Sports lightweight 10-speed at a garage sale. After researching the history of Raleigh bikes online (thanks Sheldon Brown!) I am still unable to date this bike. I posted a great deal of information about the bike and a few detailed pictures at roadbikereview.com (here is the direct link to my post: http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=70088). I would appreciate any all all help regarding dating or possible value of this bike. I don't plan on selling the bike (already received an offer from a friend) but value would help as if it was valuable I would try to restore it to original (missing the front light, etc.). Thanks.
