Sorry folks, first of all, the only thing about that Carlton that looks appealing to me is the condition of the paint. Have to admit I was always fond of the early ones (with fancy lugs). This one is just not that interesting or nicely equipped.

It seems an odd assemblage of parts, like the "upgraded" Campy "Record" derailleur which was said to have been added just after purchase of the bike... yeah, the heavy, early one, which was really superceeded by the NR, by the time bike was made.

Does anyone understand what is going on with the derailleur cables which can be seen in the detail of the Zeus right crank?

There appears to be an old single cable "tunnel" clamped on the downtube for the right/rear derailleur cable (like an old Campy #627 maybe?). But, the front derailleur cable appears to comes up out of a stop directly behind the seat tube, between the chain stays. I have never seen this sort of routing before. Would that have been a common set-up?
