Alan, Thanks for your help. Very good observation. I looked at that page on Sheldon's site, but not too carefully as the name didn't match up. The picture and specs of the Blue Streak match my Sports very closely. I wonder if it is the same bike with different paint and name? Maybe Raleigh made too many Blue Streaks and they didn't sell and decided to market it as a Sports. A few differences are the front Dynohub, no fenders, and Wrights saddle on mine. Though these could have easily been swapped in or out years ago. Thanks again for your guidance. -Steven Tallides

We (IE: the Working Bikes Co-op in Chicago, see http://www.WorkingBikes.org) got a similar frame quite some time ago and I, like you, couldn't find anything out about it ...
The colour and decals suggest early 1960s to me and I wondered if it followed the Raleigh Lenton Sports and they'd dropped the "Lenton" - because, say, it wasn't Reynolds 531?
Then a few weeks ago a Raleigh chain-wheel
appeared on eBay, very distinctive and the same as the
one Raleigh Sports frame we had. It said it was
from the likes of a Raleigh Blue Streak and if you

Hello all, This is my first submission here. I recently acquired an old Raleigh Sports lightweight 10-speed at a garage sale. After researching the history of Raleigh bikes online (thanks Sheldon Brown!) I am still unable to date this bike. I posted a great deal of information about the bike and a few detailed pictures at roadbikereview.com (here is the direct link to my post:
