Does anyone know exactly the reason why Stronglight dropped model 63 cranks and replaced them with mod. 93 (in 1970, was it)?
Was there actually a problem with the design of the crank arms, only discovered after all those years of production?
What a shame. I loved that pattern of the arms - flutes on each side of a central oval logo... Probably why I still stubbornly use 49d cranks on so many of my bikes, although admittedly with TA chainrings as often as not.
