Regarding the Leleu tandem that was spotted on French Ebay, Leleu was...and still is, I think, one of those small regional manufacturers, sprinkled around France.

The company was/is based in the north of France in the Lille area as I recall, and was/is of a similar size to the former Delroix company based at St Amand les Eaux near Valenciennes. The bikes ranged through all the normal sizes and types that you would expect from a French manufactur, and included some very attractive Pro type models. I remember that they equipped one of France's Division A (second rank of Pro teams) teams not too long ago, and they were certainly offering a range of alloy-framed road machines last year. One of the family Philippe Leleu rode as a Pro in recent years. If they are still in business then it will be due to the stubborness of French folk who still feel a loyalty to trade with local companies..of which there are still a few in the back-woods of France.

Norris Lockley...it's still dismal..here in Settle UK
