Subject: [CR]Pump peg removal?

I finally acquired a Falcon (thanks, Terry!). I believe it's the lowly "Black Diamond" model likely from the late 60's, but it's the first Falcon in my stable since my last one was stolen in '77, and I'm thrilled.

This bike has pump pegs brazed on the downtube. I'd like to remove them; is there a thread in the archives where this was discussed, or can someone give me any tips on a safe way to remove them? This is a non-Reynolds plain gauge frame. Can I just cut them off with a grinder and file the nubs smooth?

Many thanks, Sherry Buttnor Metchosin BC Canada.
