Hello,

This is my first time here. You all can be nuts sometimes! Not you, Dale.

I am a former (early '80's) USCF National Team mechanic and the first USCF mechanics instructor (also, very early '80's). I was also the SRC Raleigh head mechanic and equipment manager. The SRC (Skunk River Cyclists) were based in Ames, IA and received 753 frames directly from the same shop that built the bikes for the TI Raleigh team. I often spoke directly with the shop people.

I later became the USCF's first Technical Director and worked with Bill Woodul on establishing the first mechanics seminars at the USOC's Olympic Training Center here in Colorado Springs. Tires were a separate class!

Mounting tubular tires is a art. The following link is some type of tubular tire report. http://www.engr.ku.edu/%7Ekuktl/bicycle/bicycle.html
