Ted,

I have a second generation Record headset offered from approximately '60 - '62. It has the small groves running around the lower fixed and upper adjustable cup with no markings on either, a domed top nut and thick washer with lettering on its edge. This is not the same headset as seen on the eBay Ideor. John Barron has some great photos in his Velostuff gallery of various Record headsets and is a good reference. I believe the headset on the Ideor was the 3r generation (or 4th) of the Record headset offered sometime between '62 and the mid 60's. Perhaps as late as '67, before a big change in Campy parts - NR derailleur, cranks bolt diameter changed, hubs were marked Record and so on. This is just a guess since I would never claim to be an expert nor do I have any catalogs in front of me. Perhaps someone else on the list may have a better idea of this headset's vintage.

Too bad the bike ended, I really wanted it!
