Subject: [CR]Broken Seat Rail

Labor Day was great for cycling here in CT, and I had a very nice ride with Cliff Parker from New Britain out to the Nepaug Dam. The number of cyclists we encountered was extraordinary! On the return we ran into Wess Gadd riding one of his creations. While we were oogling his bike's lugwork, I noticed my seat all squooshy feeling as I leaned on it. Now, I do know it's not advisable for a big guy like me to be using alloy rail seats, but when you love Concor and have to outfit a few bikes, you take what you can get. Now, I'll leave the fact that the last time I ran into Wess was at the exact same place, and right after saying goodbye I snapped a Campy crank for the next episode of the X-Files. My question is: Has anyone successfully replaced a set of rails on a plastic saddle?? I have seen the nose part popped out of one. What I'm getting at is if I were to say find a steel-railed Concor that the saddle was trashed, could the rails be removed and put into the one I broke the rails on??
