I went into Witcomb's the other day to pick up a (reputed) Rensch frame that Barrie had done some work on. I was very pleased to see that there seems to be a bit of a renaissance occuring there. There was some very nicely finished new frames hanging up; A copy of a twin seat tubed saxon - built i think with Sach's Newvex (TM) lugs (something cyclical there), a nice track frame and a road frame built with old Carlton lugs. I said to Barrie he should get some photos taken and start a website. Seems as though that has already happened as I'm sure some of you will be aware.

It seems Barrie is a little reticent with the history - modesty I guess, and I know that the kiwi guy who's working with Barrie who goes by the name Dr Jog would like to collate some history for the website from people who worked there, ordered bikes from there shopped there - whatever.

I don't really know why I'm getting involved in this. I guess I like Barrie and the fact that his little shop has hung on through some pretty rough times in South East London. I guess also that its good to archive these things before the memory fades and things are lost forever.

There's a link to the Witcomb site from CR's Witcomb's page.
