Sterling and gang,

I'm officially ready to test the track after a long absence. My main

objective will to be to see if I can actually pedal my 70's Cinelli

around the track with a 66 x 12 gear on. Haven't had a chance to try

this out yet, so I'm curious what it's like. May need a motorpace to

get it to speed; or maybe Charles and Carmen will be able to pace me

at speed on their track tandem; which I'm also anxious to see on the

track. Will be bringing out a few of my other track bikes to horse

around with also.

Prizes for the bike with the biggest gear, and for the smallest track

frame, right? I think I have it covered with a 47.5cm c-t 650C wheel

bike and the Cinelli with 66x12. BTW, that's a genuine pre-1970

Campagnolo track ring, and probably one of only 10 or so made when

Campaglolo cut the rings with 66, 68, and 70 teeth; according to an

old Italian mechanic I spoke to one time.

Looking forward to the gathering and some track time. I hear we have

a pretty good crowd comming. Weather will be perfect; as a matter of

fact "the weather is here, wish you were beautiful", as we say in

California.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I would suggest that everyone who plans to attend should bring some

extra dark sunglasses. The reason will become apparent tomorrow.
