Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think I might try my hand at modifying the pedals and see what happens. It sounds like I can either bend them or cut them. Bending seems pretty straight forward but I'm not sure exactly how the cutting works. Looking at the edge of the cage if I cut off the end point so it would be even with the rest of the cage I'd have to cut through it completely - there'd be a gap between the front and the back of the cage. Will this affect the structural integrity of the pedals much? Or do I just cut some of the point and hope what's left doesn't bother my feet too much.
