Hi CR list members,
I have some, used, SUNTOUR, vintage, drivetrain parts from an old CHUBEI
/ C. ITOH (Japanese 10 speed from the early 1970's).
I'd like to sell the parts as a package deal.I'm asking $30.00 plus half
of shipping costs....
All the parts came off of a "CHUBEI" bicycle, made in Japan.
My best estimate is the parts are all typical early 1970's vintage i.e.
1973 or so........ Chubei is the "C" of C. Itoh "fame". I had never
seen a CHUBEI BICYCLE before and the information, that Chubei stands for
the C. in C. ITOH, came off the world wide web.
I did work in a store in the early 1970's (1973-1974) that sold C. Itoh
and they were equipped with SUNTOUR parts, like the one's I'm selling.
The bicycle was stripped down for a fixed gear conversion.
The parts that I have for the package deal are as follows. If your
interested send me your name and ADDRESS.I prefer to ship to US buyers
only......
1.)The "Suntour Power",shift levers are CLAMP ON STYLE, small bit of
rust on bolt head and Suntour band. I will see if polish will remove
this surface rust,on the steel "Suntour" band for the clamp on....
2.)Suntour clamp on style front derailleur says: SUNTOUR COMPE V and has
six small circle cutouts in the front derailleur cage.
3.)Rear derailleur says ONLY: SUNTOUR GT (NOT vgt). There is an adapter
plate to bolt the rear derailleur to frames with out the eyelet, for the
rear derailleur as you would find on more expensive frames.
These parts are used and work fine.
The bicycle these came from had a 14-32 or 14-34 freewheel.
So the rear derailleur will handle a wide range freewheel.
I have clamps for cable stops also that came off the Chubei, that are
included.
I would rate the condition as a 6-7 on a scale of 1-10.The parts would
be best for a user not for show on a bicycle that needs a wide range
rear derailleur.
The "throw" on the Suntour "POWER" RATCHET shifters is the REVERSE of
most shifters......If I recall correctly.
I DO NOT HAVE A DIGITAL CAMERA. Sorry.
Any questions, comments feel welcome to get in touch with me.
Yours truly,
