Re: RALEIGH NYLON EXTRA 270 JAPAN - the "unstretchable" tires

While searching in the archive, I decided to continue this thread from last march. I am restoring a few bikes that came with these Raleigh Nylon / Panaracer tires. I thought the appropriate and relevant modern tire would be "Panaracer Practice" tires which are 270 gram tires. Are these modern tubulars descendants of the original ones? And, are they just as difficult to stretch and mount as the original tires? Any other caveats with these?

Please email me and I'll summarize to the list, thanx.
