35 years ago, the best Peugeot was the PX-10. The next in line was the PR-10. Both are collectable, particularly the PX-10, which holds a place in industry history similar to the MG-TC and Triumph TR3 in the sports car world. Like those cars, it provided a very cpable competition machine at an affordable price and was a force in buildng grass roots racing in America.

These two models can be recognized by the Reynolds 531 tubing decal, if it is still present. Otherwise, the best way to ID the model is to take some decent photos and post a link to the list. There are dozens of CR members who can ID the major Peugeot models of that era from decent photos. If it is a PX-10, or probably even a PR-10 in decent condition, I'm sure someone on the list would buy it at a reasonable price, or you could sell it on eBay. However, PX-10's don't bring the prices of some Italian bikes. In my experience they go for a few hundred dollars, and one has to be pretty exceptional to bring more than $500. This may be because some buyers are afraid of dealing with the French threaded components.

Seems they had someone in the store today wanting to know how they would go about selling a bike in the basement.

Turns out the bike was purchased for the fellow's wife. She has never ridden it and it has been in the basement since purchase.

35 years.

What are the models of Peugeots and how do I tell them apart if I go look at this tomorrow.

Further - if I do go look at it and it is worth the trip.

Who collects Peugeots???

I hate to see old bikes going to waste!
