Subject: [CR]An Introduction....and more

Hi All ! I guess introductions are in order as I just signed up to Classic Rendezvous. I see many familiar names here and I think quite a few have purchased from me on eBay :o) My name is Peter Schwar and I live near Montreal Canada. I have a thing for out-of-the-ordinary quality made bicycles such as Moulton and Pedersen but can appreciate a beautifully hand-crafted double diamond frame any day. The bikes I ride are my own custom creations and maybe I will be considered a Keeper of the Flame (in a Moulton-esque style) when my next couple of frames are finished. I'm not old enough to know 70's bikes first hand but I started working in 1980 as a shop mechanic in Toronto when I was in my early teens. In those same years I would frequent Mike Barry's Bicycle Specialties (when he was on King St.) and dream of all the things I couldn't afford and to see any vintage bikes he might of had on display at the time. Anyway, on to business... Can anybody enlighten me as the years that leather sole cycling shoes were most popular? I just acquired a made in France shoe ironically called "Hungaria". I can't seem to find anything about the shoes with regards to age or company history. I can sent or find some place to post pics if anybody wants to see the shoes. I am also looking to learn more about these bikes which I believe are Japanese made. I saw one on an auction site and the name was "Honour". A pic can be seen here (scroll half way down to "Fun Stuff") http://velo-orange.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_velo-orange_archive.html It's a small wheel diamond frame from the early 70's (I guess). The one I saw at auction had Mafac and Simplex parts but since it was a Japanese auction the rest was, well, it looked like Japanese to me. And last, I would like to offer for sale Benotto Cello handlebar tape in all white, all silver, or all dark grey at $3 a package plus shipping. Quantities are almost endless but these are all the colours I have. I also would like to offer Paturaud No.9 toe clips in size Large. These are so nice the look like they are straight out of a time machine. $20/pair plus
shipping.
Cheers,
Peter Schwar
