The graphics look like late 80's to me, more recent than my 1986 PZ-10. So does the 531 decal. Assuming the decal is correct and/or original, the frame has 531 butted main tubes only. That would make it a good quality model, but a couple of steps below the top of the line. Also, the decal is in English. That could mean this is one of the Peugeots that were made in Canada under license. Or it could be that when Peugeot (and other French manufacturers) went to English dimensions in the mid 80's they abandoned the French-language 531 decals. Any any case, I think this bike is technically beyond the CR 1983 cutoff, although it might qualify as KOF.

Identification of these machines usually causes me no problems, but as this latest one from my nephew is not English, I am struggling to know just what it is. So far as he recalls, Jonathan bought the Peugeot frame at his local bike shop in the early 80s, together with a Shimano group set and some other new parts. With the help of his 2 older racing brothers he built it up, but never took up the sport in the same way that they did, and for the last 15 years it has hung on my sister's garage wall, hence all the dust. It would help me decide what best to do with it if someone could identify the frame for me, with some indication of where in the Peugeot range it would have been. I have posted some pics at http://ntlworld.photobox.co.uk/album/1571123 , and if more pics or information is required please let me know.
