Neil: Based upon clip style headset, frame lugs & seat stay bits, and other details, I would say definitely pre-WW2. Late 30s/early 40s is a good guess.

Hello everyone,

I am a new subscriber, and owner of only one bike (so far) that fits into the category of "classic". In fact, this bike is what I'm writing about. I'm interested in some feedback from anyone who knows a bit about Macleans bicycles. I recently purchased a Macleans at a garage sale, and I'm trying to get it closer to its former glory. I think a good start is to identify what I have! If anyone can provide me with some information on the age of this frame, I would greatly appreciate it. The serial number on the frame and fork match, and both read DE 928. Pictures can be found at the following address:

Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing back from those in the know.

Sincerely, Neil Goedhuis Ottawa, ON, Canada
