"Ossie Dover was the tailor to the cyclists he was a Jewish tailor from Liverpool. Now sadly sitting at his cutting table up in heaven with his beloved Higgins Trike beside him I'll bet. He had a sister Hilda"
I had the misfortune to purchase a pair of Ossie's "made to measure" shorts. You couldnt accuse him of skimping on material as my shorts had the appearance of a ladies riding skirt. I used them for cleaning my bike. My recollection is that Ozzie had very poor sight, certainly he held the tape measure about two inches from his nose to read it. I believe that until recently Hilda was still making the tea at the regular Merseyside cyclists' meet at Lydiate Village Hall. Ray Green, Brighton England
