Indeed they did. It was if the dress code/proper attire and grooming of one's self was as important as the bicycle itself. The cyclists took pride is looking quite stately for their races, clubs, and group rides.

I have two questions for the English cycling experts on the list:

What brand of shoe did the English cyclist wear in the 30s/40s?

Secondly what was the proper term for the patterned socks/stockings that were sported with the old whipcord baggies?
