Subject: [CR]FS: Moto Grand Record

I'm willing to pass along my good fortune if it is easy enough: Working in a bike shop, I sometimes see deals that are too good to pass up. Today's deal was a 1973 Motobecane Grand Record in great, mostly original condition, that I cannot keep. Fans of French bikes will want to consider this. Frame is Reynolds 531 butted throughout, including fork. Lugs are Nervex Pro. Paint is black with red head tube, seat tube panels and seat stay caps, all pinstriped in gold, with gold air-brushed "Motobecane" "Made in France" and "Grand Record." This is the classy Motobecane we all dream of finding. Size in 57 cm C-toC, with 58 cm C-toC top tube. Condidtion is very good, straight with no dents and very few chips in the paint (and most of those are on the black). One of the seat stay pinstripes does have a gap in it. Bike includes original Stronglight V-4 headset, 3-arm TA crankset with correct bottom bracket and dust caps and the "Record" of the "Grand Record" -- Campagnolo derailleurs front and rear and downtube levers. Front derailleur is correct flat slab with no circlip, rear derailleur is Patent 73 and shifters have those funky cable stops that prove period correctness. I haven't taken it apart or taken pictures yet, so you have to trust me (or come to Madison and see for yourself) that this is an incredible buy at $250 including professional boxing, PayPal only. Shipping is to continental U.S. only and I will charge only my actual cost. If you are not satisfied, I will refund all cost but shipping back to me. If I have to clean parts or take pictures, I will raise the price accordingly.
