[CR]Campagnolo Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur, Late Production

Other than to guide a screwdriver to the adjusting screw head, is there a function for the plastic knobs on the adjusting screws? They are not keyed to the screw so they don't turn them. I think the DR looks better without them. Just curious.
