Motobecane 83 Mirage Sport. This is a nicer bike than the Super Mirage, with forged verical drops, a full chrome fork, and nice alloy parts. This is definitely NOT anything like the bottom end Mirage model. Racing bike geometry and clearances, short reach brakes. VGC+ $150 + ship. 52c c-c, 55.5c-c tt, 100.3c wb (39.5"), 41c cs (16-1/8"), 90mm stem. Very nice riding, good quality little Lawee designed bike. Metalflake black with red head tube and gold decals.
I'd like to sell this as a frameset and some parts, but I'm listing it as a complete bike here first.
2040 Vitus butted inexternal brazed, fastback stays. Full chrome fork with sloping crown. Motobecane & "M in wreath" engraved bars/seat post, alloy quill pedals (9/16), short reach Weinmann 500 sidepull brakes and 'pro' drilled levers (not safety). Hutchinson leather look rubber bar wrap and lever hoods. Huret shifters and front d, Nervar alloy cotterless crank 130 BCD 42/52 chainrings in excellent condition, chrome bolts. Sedis chain. Came with Maillard sealed hubs and Rigida 27x1 115 psi wheels, but fits 700c with existing brakes and I have a set of nice Japanese 700c I can include instead.
Minor paint chips, but overall nice paint, no rust, no dents. Headset/stem are French thread/22.0. I'll have to check the BB - May be English or French thread (square taper). Braze on DT shifters, internal 6 o-clock rear brake cable routing, vertical rear dropouts so not ideal for a fixed gear. Eyelets, generally racing clearance, but some clearance for bigger tires and/or fenders - I will test fit 32c and Bluemels if desired. Everything smooth, low mileage, works great. I'll install your choice of various nice period Shimano rear deraileurs if you want, or you can get a Huret on your own. I will also part this bike if desired.
