Don wanted to know more why I thought the bike was not what was claimed.

http://ebay.com/<blah>

Pedals with reflectors, skirt guards made out of pressed steel, plastic handlebar and brake lever grips, style of braze-on generator mount, Indian saddle, Schraeder valves, Raleigh-style fork crown, grooved alloy rims, modern tires, non oxiddated brake blocks, apparently modern cotterless cranks... and you can go on and on.

To my eyes there isn't anything about this bike that appears old, apart from perhaps the design of the headlight. The headlight is however another give-away in that it has an electrical cable going into it and this style of headlight were never electrical.

I haven't yet figured out what the lever on the seatpost is for .
