Don,
Calling it "skip tooth" is actually inaccurate and confuses
the issue. In fact, this bicycle's chainring and rear sprocket
are meant to be used with a one-inch pitch chain. In that
case, no teeth are skipped, although the gears have half as
many teeth as half-inch pitch gears of the same diameter.
