I think this is an internet myth. I have heard it before and it simply is not true. Edward Albert Chappaqua, NY

JUST A REMINDER...29 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls...YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS...To prevent this, CALL THE FOLLOWING NUMBER FROM YOUR CELL PHONE: 1-888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL Registry-from the FTC. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 or more for 411/information calls when they don't need to. When you need to use the 411 option, simply dial 1-800-FREE411 or 1-800-373-3411 without incurring a charge at all except for the minutes required to make the call. This information people don't mind receiving, so let people know.
